The Summer Cool Camp is an academic review program designed to help students retain and gain knowledge over the summer in a kid-friendly manner. Our camp offers small group and individualized instruction. With a low student to educator ratio, we can create personalized activities that meet your child’s needs and spark their interests. Motivation is key to child’s educational development and fostering a sense of community through supportive mentorship builds relationships between teacher and student. This camp is about quality over quantity. We want children to understand the work they’re doing and put forth their best effort, rather than focusing on the amount of work they can complete quickly. This has been a hectic school year. Students have been bombarded with content and testing. Our approach helps children earn a sense of accomplishment through comprehension, which develops proficiency in their skill set. We focus on these foundational skills for Math and LA which can be transferred to any grade level. SKILLS • Speaking and Listening • Revising and Editing • Constructed response practice • Math facts and formulas • Reading and comprehension STRATEGIES • Student-led open discussions • Academic raps and mnemonic devices • Apps and online resources • Code Switching - Draft/writing coaching • Test-taking Strategies Real-world connections will be made through these techniques and more. Assignments are tailored to reflect the practical applications of their education. As part of our Day One Initiative, we need to know the areas your child needs help in specifically, before camp starts. Upon enrollment, please send examples of coursework they’ve struggled with, so they have the best shot at retainment and improvement over the summer. Grades 3rd - 6th Pricing Our prices are half off the industry standards for this type of an academic camp. In addition, we provide individualized support, mentoring, child advocacy, and parent empowerment. This is a transformative process, from beginning to end and we strive to help parents and students take ownership of their education.
